Opportunities to help

We've asked Jen to compile a list of ways that those of us (near and far) can help out. Here's the first round of what she's identified. If you can provide support in any of these ways, please leave a comment at this blog so that we will know what/who to expect and so that we can mark things off the list.

Also, as a personal note (from Stephanie), I'd like to say thank you to Jen and Kenny for allowing us to offer assistance. As we all know from personal experiences, it's not easy to allow others to step in. Also, I'd like to say that the requests will be intermittent; they will ebb and flow. In the mean time, we'll try to keep the blog populated with updates and other info.

    1. It looks like a handyman would come in handy! I can contribute...would anyone else like to add in? Just send me an e-mail at sally.w.price@gmail.com if you would like to help hire the handy help.

Jen: do you have a local handyman you like? If now, i will find you one.

    4. JP, Ron and I (with kids) can come over late Sat afternoon (2:30-3); he thinks he can fix your bathroom hooks and maybe the light...would that time work for you?
To the Circle of Friends--thanks so much for setting this up--fantastic idea.

    5. THANK YOU ALL!

@Sally - Let's see how many handymen step forward and if we can't get it covered, then yes, let's hire one. :) None of these tasks is urgent, but it would help to get them done.

P.S. I told Kenny he could volunteer via the blog to get some of the work back if he wants it. :)

@Connie - You go, girl! (Can you hear me now?)

@Karen Jones - You are incorrigible. You and Jim have already helped so much. How about if we save you for "special assignments"?

@Elizabeth - How does Ron do with wall anchors and spackle? You can contact me via email. That time is fine. I appreciate his willingess to come over, and if he wants to bring the kids, they are welcome. Ashlee will be here and they can play with B. if they like.

    9. Hi Jennifer,

This is Jonathan. I was going to volunteer to help with repairs or cooking, but it looks like you have takers already.

I'd love to pick up some meals for you. Persian Garden is right around the corner from my house, and Swaddee Thai is right near work. We also regularly shop at Trader Joes and Whole Foods.

Please give a quick idea of what you regularly get at any of these places (whichever appeals most). I can pick up and drop off.

      All the best,

      -Jonathan

    10. @Jonathan - We have always been so aligned in our interests and tastes. :) How about if I send you an email and we can coordinate. I wish I were organized enough to just hand over shopping lists but we are not at there yet. The shopping list is primarily in Kenny's head. :)

Hi Lawrence Family! May I bring you a salmon & rice dinner? If you prefer chicken or turkey, that works too. I can also come over to chop veggies Sun., 7/5th. Since neither Patrick or myself are too handy, we'll gladly help pitch in for a handyman. Love & Blessings to you, the Buckleys
      * thanks Stephanie, Connie & Cindy for setting this up - wonderful idea!

    17. Hi, Jen, Kenny, Daniel and Bethany!! Mike is anxious to start on those "veggies chopping" and cooking whatever needs to be, on Sunday, July 12,1:00-3:00pm--is it still open? He used to work as an "assistant cook" at several restaurants "several years ago"--he wants me to say. I knew there was a great reason why I married him!--ha-ha)
